In Wesch's "A Vision of Students today" He posts a blog on the internet for students to comment on. 200 Students participated in the blog with over 350 total posts. He communicates the students feelings with no speech in this clip. The students comment on the relivence of class to normal life. We know that most of the people going to school now days will have a job in the future they have never heard of. So you can infer from the clip the students feelings that many wonder why they are paying for class when they never show up. Or why they are buying an over priced book that they never even open.
So far I am only in my second class of college. From my first class i experienced one fo these complaits that these students have had. I paid for a 120 dollar book and went through my last class without ever opening it to read it. In other words i never needed it.

In this summary Kyle brings up the point in Michael Wesch's video that Technology is advancing and that students will "have a job in the future they've never heard of". He also suggests that students feel school is a waste of money because it isn't relevant to their lives.
ReplyDeleteI would agree with Kyle on the subject of school not always being relevant to my life. I would add that text books are expensive and at times not even needed being as you can find almost all the information you need online these days. In my own summary I didn't mention how todays schooling may not be relevant to our future jobs but I think it's an important message of the video.
