Part 1
In "Growing up Online" a movie by Rachel Dretzin and John Maggio, they look into the effects of the internet on the generation. By interview teens and their parents they discover disconnect of communication between parent and child. One interviewer says that “Internet is the province of teenagers”. The interviewer is describing how parents don’t go on the internet and even if they do the majority of the people on the internet are teenagers. Whether it is to post a video on YouTube or just talking to a friend on facebook, the internet has become a dominion with out rules for the adolescence to play The documentary also goes to a university setting to find the effects of the internet at the college. One woman states in the documentary that “The internet has been the greatest generation gap sense the advent of rock n roll” This applies to the college environment because English teachers of today are either having difficulties teaching or are going in completely new directions with different philosophies.

Part 2
Today people do not look scurry through thousands of books at the library, instead they type in key words. The Internet has affected the way we study and learn. The biggest and most obvious reason we use the internet is because of convenience, its fast. Is it reliable, well you never really know? But if your smart and you go to credible cites then finding information about books, history, sciences, or any question for that matter, you can almost always find the answer. For example in my English class I am taking right now I go online all the time to see what my homework is.
