"Computing The Cost" claims

"This tendency toward distraction is built into the net through the use of hyperlinks and search engines, and I believe it's beginning to influence not simply how we gather information but also how we think."
Reasons: Google makes money based on how many ads we see and how often we click on them. We click on all different hyperlinks distracting us from what were reading.

Claim two: "Human inteligence is the ability to make sense of that information."
Reasons: Carr resaons this claim with the question of what we consider to be inteligence, it's either a matter of "tapping into huge amounts of information as fast as possible, being more productive" or if yo uthin k"inteligence means stepping back from that information thinking about it and drawing your own conclusions in a thoughtful way" Carr would rather have less information and more thoughtfulness.
