AT&T commerical

The AT&T commercial that I analyzed tries to sell its 3G network with the idea that you can use its faster service to help your community. The ad starts with a sad little girl posting a lost dog ad on what looks to be a bulletin board in university commons, as the little girl is walking away a male student walks up and looks at the ad and looks at her with a concerned look. The student then takes out his AT&T cell phone and takes a picture of the ad, he then texts post the picture to the AT&T Social Net. Next a guy at a restaurant reposts the picture with the message “Can you help find this dog?” Various students around the campus are shown next seeing the message and shaking their heads no they haven’t seen the dog. Then there is a group of girls who get the message while petting a dog that happens to be the dog that is missing, so they the girl responds to the guy from the restaurant “Found the dog!”. The ad then ends with the restaurant guy returning the dog to the little girl who comes running when she sees her dog. This commercial is trying play on the fact that most people want to help out other people and that with AT&T’s network you can do it even faster and Americans like faster. Another thing AT&T does in this commercial is that everyone is wearing blue and blue is one of AT&T’s colors. So they are kind of saying that blue is good and when you think of a good cell phone company you will think of blue. Mostly though I think AT&T was just making a feel good commercial to make people like there company and I think they did that.
