Coca Cola Advertisement

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZIuzyfE1Qg

The text that I posted was coca cola polar bear ads, which are the ones that are always on T.V when Christmas is nearing closer. The ad starts off with a parent polar bear and a kid polar bear playing with a ball and the kid polar bear hits it into the water where a seal suddenly appears, the bears are very disappointed. The seal then hits the ball back to the bears and the bears look at the seal, and then they hand it an ice cold coke for giving them the ball back and the seal drinks it with a huge smile. I think it’s important to understand that seals and polar bears probably aren’t best buddies in the real world. This ad shows that no matter whom you are if you drink a coke with someone else you are friends, and for doing something good a coke is a great reward. The advertisement also shows me that coke is kind of like a bonding thing if there is coca cola involved with anything then people or in this case animals can get along and be friends, it’s the coke that brings everything together. To be honest whenever I see these advertisements they really make me crave a coke which I think has to do with the setting for which the commercials are in, they are set in the arctic and there is ice everywhere in the commercial not to mention the polar bears which you think of when you hear cold so this advertisement seems to work on me not for the bonding experience but for the cold coke that looks so good in it. So this ad definitely hits you from every angle they make you feel like with a coke you can get along with everyone, and they also make their product sound really good. The coca cola company wants you to feel good from watching this commercial and I think they do a pretty good job of it which is bad because coke isn’t the best thing for you.

  1. 1. The coke was a gift for returning the ball. The myth/narrative in this commercial could be that if you've got a coke, share it and everyone will like you. Coke brings people together, even if you're from two different species. 5. Polar bears and seals don't tend to get along very well in reality, bears eat seals. But in this commercial they portray that anyone can be friends while sharing coca cola.
