Hi my name is Dylan Esser. I am currently a running start student and a senior at Sehome High school. I just started attending classes at Whatcom this year, but so far I am enjoying not paying for college. I will be 18 in a week and I am very excited to graduate soon. I'm still not positive about what I'm going to do after high school but as of now I plan on going to Whatcom for two years, and then transferring to a four year college (hopefully UW). In my spare time i like to be active and play sports. I played football for six years and if i had to pick something I was really passionate about I would probably choose football. I hope to keep playing in the future even though its kind of hard when Whatcom doesn't have a team. Other than that I pretty much just ski and hang out with my friends. My life after college is still a blank slate and I have no idea what kind of career i want to pursue. Luckily I've still got a while to figure it out and I'm hoping that English 100 will help me with that.
I have a love hate relationship with writing and whether i love it or hate it usually depends on what I'm writing about. I enjoy writing about stuff other than myself or my life and I hate things like MLA format and culminating project papers. My favorite topics to write about are history, and fiction. I'm usually pretty slow at writing and I have a tendency to sit and stare at my screen or paper. I read a lot which i think has improved my writing over the years and while I haven't written very much in the past I think that is about to change.
