Hello

Part 1:
Well, my name is Rose Anastasio and I'm a running start student from Sehome. I'm 16 and I have a 19 year old brother attending the Northwest Hair Academy in Mount Vernon. My mother is an ELL teacher at Squalicum High School and my father is a professional musician. I was born in Houston, Texas and moved here to Bellingham when I was five. I enjoy listening to music and snowboarding now and then. I currently work at the Mt. Baker Ski Area as a Snowboard Instructor and I enjoy it. My life is on pause until I get out of high school and make a name for myself outside of living at home. I want to travel after high school and go to all the places I've heard about. My summers are filled with outdoor music festivals, friends, and sometimes travel (usually to close places).

Part 2:
I had a language arts teacher for 7th and 8th grade at Fairhaven Middle School named Mr. Gillman and he taught me so many valuable things about writing that it's safe to say he shaped me into the writer I am today. From 8th grade until now (11th) my writing has just gotten more uniform and boring. I love just having topics to write about that I'm actual interested in and topics that have many different interpretations. I like to "free write" and whatever comes out, comes out. Sometimes is an argumentative paper, sometimes a sonnet, sometimes a fiction story about some obscure character, and sometimes nothing at all. Building walls around what I can and cannot write is torture to me. I've kept all my writings I wrote over the two years I had Mr. Gillman as a teacher and I often go back and read them and just appreciate how individual those writings were and how much they portrayed my life at that time. It's sometimes eerie to think about.
