Introduction- Hannah Gowen

Hello :) My name is Hannah Gowen. I am a Senior at Bellingham High School this year and this is my first year doing Running Start. To start off, I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. I wish I could have remembered it, but I only lived there for about 18 months or so. My family moves A LOT! I have been to way too many schools to even name them. I've lived all across the United States and it's fun getting to meet new people and it's something I really enjoy! I'm super happy because my family is not moving anymore and I like Bellingham so far. I play volleyball for BHS and I was on the Varsity team for three years now. I am hoping to play for WCC for college, that's one of my goals! I enjoy being active and always doing something fun. I'm a shy girl when you first meet me but when time goes along, you'll find me to be a fun and outgoing person. I do well in school and I enjoy learning new things that interest me. I love to hangout with friends, write in my journal, go on walks, see movies, and just have fun anyway possible! When I graduate High School this Spring I want to maybe attend WCC and join their PTA program. I am excited to see where life takes me!
Kids of writing I do frequently: School essays from books, poetry of any kind, writing in my journal almost every night, texting, and computer. I really enjoy free writing, especially in my journal that I write in almost every night. I usually write when I'm in bed and where it's quiet. I always write about what's on my mind, how my day when and/or things about my life that is happening (good or bad). I decided to write during my high school years because it'll be fun to look back at my high school years.
I love writing in my journal for many reasons. I can write about my feelings and have no one read it and critique my writing. It's nice to write things down and keep my thoughts to myself and not be judged. I let myself go back on my day and write about it. I can describe certain things and pay as much attention to that topic as I want to. It's nice to have that freedom in writing whatever I'd like to. I love to write in my journal because when I moved here during the summer after 8th Grade going into high school, I went through a very difficult time and needed something or someone to express my feelings to. It helped me SO much that I just continued writing. It gave me a release to express what I had to say about my past and how my life was at the moment. I enjoy it very much so!
